I have a background in Trauma and A&E nursing, where people came when they had been shot, stabbed, assaulted, had broken bones or a head injury. They could be violent, drunk or high on drugs but also had visitors who wanted to finish the patient off, were angry or upset.

I could often be the only person standing between an attacker and their intended victim- and this is where I quickly learned some negotiation skills and decided which battles to fight and which to leave. I also noticed that some members of staff got assaulted more often by patients or visitors and wondered what it was about them that was different.

From here I set up a charity and worked in the third sector for many years, using these conflict resolution skills. I also took some coaching courses to help bring out the best in staff and volunteers.

Having gained qualifications in coaching, conflict management, mediation and Gallup Strengths psychology based development, I set up Multiply Group to equip businesses to work well together, achieve goals and increase engagement and productivity.
