Hello My Name is…

Hello- my name is... This is such a simple way to introduce yourself.

It is also a campaign aimed at health professionals, and can be applied to all relationships, especially when working with team members or clients.

The campaign was set up when Dr Kate Granger MBE was admitted to hospital. She recognised that most hospital staff did not introduce themselves when treating her, and she it felt wrong that such a basic human connection was missing.

Introducing yourself well can build rapport and trust, especially in difficult circumstances and conflict situations.

Getting to Yes

‘Getting to yes’ is an excellent book on negotiation. Every one of us has to negotiate regularly in our lives, whether it is with ourselves for what we want to eat, or with others for salaries, preferred holidays or the best outcome in a divorce settlement.

In each of these situations, listen, listen, then listen some more. People are more likely to listen to you when you have really taken the time to slow down and listen to what they want to say.

Feedback

Successful organisations recognise that leadership development is essential to bring the best out of leaders & potential leaders.

The Church of England Birmingham holds a leadership training course twice a year where Vicki teaches TeamStrengths, using the CliftonStrengths Assessment. This is helpful for the leaders to grow in their self-awareness and understand their unique contribution to the organisation.

Feedback from these events is overwhelmingly positive and includes:

"Vicki led an amazing strengths -finding session this morning. She is professional, friendly and very easy to listen and relate to. Highly recommended."

"Vicki led a group of us with skill, enthusiasm and insight. She related to each member as an individual, showing flexibility and wisdom and enabling each person to grow. She was great to plan and work with as well."

If you would like to book Vicki in for leadership development or CliftonStrengths Training, email office@multiplycoaching.com or book in a free 30 minute session to discuss your needs: https://calendly.com/multiplycoaching/newclient

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends, relations & colleagues!

It makes me sad that we don't really have a celebration dedicated to being thankful for each other and what we have. (Especially when there is food involved.)

Taking a moment to assess and be thankful for what and who we have in our lives have been shown to improve our immunity, sleep and mood.

What if we took some time each day to thank our work colleagues, friends or family for the things they do?

As well as improving our mood and sleep, it can help them feel appreciated for those little, everyday tasks, and helps build rapport- one of the most important tools we can utilise in conflict situations.
